Job Description: The position of Senior Account Supervisor reports to an Account Director or other seniorlevel employee. The Senior Account Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the execution and management of all aspects of a PR program, supervising and managing the media relationships, and managing the account team with only high-level oversight from a senior level employee and functions as the day-to-day account lead. In this position the publicist should demonstrate expertise in answering all general PR questions immediately and unaided and has the ability to act as the primary client-facing account member on day-to-day activities.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee entire public relations performance and all functions of accounts and manage to ensure they run smoothly,reporting and sharing updates with the senior team member on the account regularly to function as the account manager
- Develop public relations strategies and manages senior level day-to-day contact with the client to ensure all objectives are met
- Executes senior level strategic public relations positioning with the media
- Oversee press office activities and takes a nimble approach to securing press
- Provide strategic media counsel to clients and account team, with opportunity to pull in senior team member as needed
- Anticipate clients’ strategic needs
- Supervise account staff in their daily activities
- Works as a liaison between senior, mid and junior team members to keep an account running smoothly
- Drafts and finalizes standard PR materials with little to no edits from senior team member
- Proactive participation in new business initiatives: plan writing and presentation
- Working knowledge of social networks and ability to assist clients with developing strategies and monitoring share of voice
- Manage one or more direct report, conduct performance reviews, host 1:1’s, set goals, approve time off, onboard new employees etc.
Education and Experience Required:
- BA/BS Degree is preferred
- 6-8 years of experience in public relations
- Agency experience is preferred
