Bruichladdich
Magrino leads a 360° communications strategy for Bruichladdich Distillery, amplifying brand awareness and driving cultural conversation for one of Islay’s most progressive single-malt Scotch whisky makers.

The Distillery
Islay Single Malt, Conceived, Distilled, Matured and Bottled on the Island
Bruichladdich Distillery is situated on the Hebridean island of Islay and is home to three unique Scotch whisky brands: Bruichladdich (unpeated Islay single malt), Port Charlotte (heavily peated at 40PPM), and Octomore (the world’s most heavily peated Scotch at 80+PPM). First established in 1881 by the Harvey brothers, the distillery was closed in 1994, only to be resurrected in 2001 by Mark Reynier, Simon Coughlin, and Head Distiller Jim McEwan.
The team breathed new life into the community by keeping operations on Islay—installing an on-site bottling hall in 2003, growing Islay barley from 2004 (now over 50% of annual production), and adding warehousing to ensure all single malts are conceived, distilled, matured and bottled solely on the island. Bruichladdich is one of only two distilleries on Islay to make these claims. Acquired by Rémy Cointreau in 2012, Bruichladdich became the first Scotch whisky company in the world to be B Corp certified in 2020.

2026 Releases
New Expressions and Limited Editions
Bruichladdich, Port Charlotte, and Octomore each debut exceptional new releases in 2026, showcasing the distillery’s commitment to innovation and provenance.
Bruichladdich
Old Skool 10-Year Old
This limited-edition release celebrates 25 years of Islay-centric whisky making. Distilled using 100% Islay barley from 14 local growers on the island, bottled at 10 years old, it features tasting notes of apricot jam, vanilla custard, toasted coconut, sea brine, and warming clove.
Bruichladdich
Yellow Submarine III
A revival of one of the distillery’s most beloved cult releases. The Yellow Submarine legacy began in summer 2005, when Islay fishermen found a small, bright yellow Ministry of Defense submarine off the coast of Islay. It tastes of crème brulee, pink peppercorns, toasted hazelnut, warming nutmeg, and sea salt.
Bruichladdich
The Laddie Rye
A bold new innovation, exclusively available in the United States. Ultra-high provenance and fully traceable from farm to glass, the whisky is distilled using locally grown rye and Islay malting barley, before aging in bourbon barrels and Virgin American Oak. Expect peppery heat, warming spice and mellow oak, all punctuated with Bruichladdich’s signature sweet and floral character.
Port Charlotte
MDC:01 & 18 Year Old
Port Charlotte debuts two releases in 2026: MDC:01, the eighth release in the Cask Exploration Series, aged in Margaux cask for 10 years; and the permanent launch of its heralded 18 Year Old single malt, featuring notes of honey, hazelnut and salted caramel that mingle with peat smoke.
Octomore
Series 17
Octomore debuts its series 17 this year with four expressions, each with its own distinct and unique character: 17.1, 17.2, 17.3 and 17.4 as an e-boutique exclusive.
Three Brands, One Home
Bruichladdich, Port Charlotte, and Octomore
Bruichladdich Distillery is home to three unique Scotch whisky brands. Bruichladdich is an unpeated Islay single malt Scotch whisky. Port Charlotte is a heavily peated Islay single malt at 40PPM. Octomore is the world’s most heavily peated Scotch whisky series at 80+PPM.
Each expression reflects the distillery’s commitment to terroir, provenance, and progressive whisky making. The independently owned distillery, now part of Rémy Cointreau, continues to invest in the values of the business, its Islay home, and the local community.
