The Distillery
Precious Gifts from Mt. Fuji
FUJI Whisky takes its name from Mt. Fuji, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to the Fuji Gotemba Distillery. Located 7.5 miles from the mountain and surrounded by forest, the distillery was established in 1973 to unite Japanese craftsmanship with global whisky-making techniques. It is the world’s only distillery to craft malt and three styles of grain whiskies—American, Canadian, and Scottish—all under one roof.
One of the only whiskies in the world to use Mt. Fuji’s snowmelt in production, this water takes nearly 50 years to travel from the mountain’s peak to the underground aquifer beneath the distillery. The result is exceptionally pure, soft water that forms the foundation of FUJI’s distinctive expressions, described by Master Blender Jota Tanaka as “precious gifts from Mt. Fuji.”

Introduced in October 2025, this 100% malt expression blends decades of malt-making tradition with modern technique to deliver a refined, fruit-forward profile with layered complexity and a smooth, balanced finish. SRP: $99.99.

A limited-edition expression celebrating five decades of distilling excellence. This fall, the brand will introduce the distillery’s first aged-statement, underscoring its blending and maturation expertise with a new level of depth and complexity.

Master Blender
Jota Tanaka’s Legacy of Craft
Master Blender Jota Tanaka brings more than 35 years of experience across whisky, wine, and beer. He is the second Master Blender in the distillery’s 50-year history.
Under his leadership, the Fuji Gotemba Distillery has earned global recognition for its uniquely integrated approach, crafting both refined malt whiskies and distinctive grain whiskies in multiple global styles. In 2026, Magrino assisted in reinforcing FUJI’s authenticity through the rollout of the new “JW” logo on all bottles—a certification backed by the Japanese Spirits & Liqueurs Makers Association, indicating that FUJI Whisky is an authentic Japanese Whisky in accordance with the category’s official standards.
