SITUATION

Chandon California celebrated its 45th anniversary being a pioneer and leader in superior California sparkling wine with a special anniversary bottling of their Blanc de Noirs. Available nationally throughout the year, this bottling marked the debut of a new wine style from Head Winemaker Pauline Lhote. In a crowded landscape of anniversary bottlings, it was important to distinguish Chandon California as an innovative wine brand.

STRATEGY

Magrino secured media appointments in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Atlanta to ensure that Pauline Lhote engaged with top-tier regional and national publications. In these appointments, Pauline led journalists through a vertical tasting of Chandon California, including the new anniversary bottling to showcase her modern vision for the sparkling wine. In addition, Magrino invited a select group of editors to join Pauline at the winery for a quintessential Napa experience, and to celebrate the milestone anniversary of Chandon California. Magrino also sent select media the limited-edition bottle so they could taste the new wine vision from Pauline Lhote, understand its style, and learn more about the history of the brand.
