Overview

Magrino was tasked with raising awareness nationally for SusieCakes, the homestyle scratch bakery with 30+ locations across California, Tennesse and Texas, and its founder Susan Sarich. After growing a strong local and regional presence for many years, developing a cult following and becoming a celebrity favorite, SusieCakes launched national delivery in 2022, allowing the brand to grow and expand to the national stage. Magrino was retained to handle national and regional media relations.

Our Solution

Magrino engaged in national media outreach and strategic seasonal, trend, and partnership brand placements to raise awareness on a national level. We leveraged the launch of national shipping with timely brand partnerships with companies like See’s Candy, and used the buzz around the Wicked movie’s premiere for a buzzy, newsjacking moment. Additionally, Magrino engaged in gifting to high-profile influencers and celebrities to help them celebrate big moment such as birthdays, engagements, and even winning Dancing with the Stars.

Magrino’s efforts resulted in media placements in top outlets including NBC’s Access Daily, LA Magazine, Better Homes & Gardens and Eater, and social media send-outs and posts from influencers such as @brettbites and @joeygraziadei.
