Walsh Whiskey
Established by husband-and-wife duo Bernard and Rosemary Walsh in 1999, Walsh Whiskey is dedicated to the revival of Irish whiskey as one of the world’s most appreciated spirits. Critically acclaimed and internationally adored, Walsh Whiskey’s portfolio consists of two premium and super-premium, triple-distilled, craft-whiskey brands: Writers’ Tears and The Irishman.
Writers’ Tears
Walsh Whiskey’s Writers’ Tears is a unique marriage of aged single pot still and single malt Irish whiskey. Distilled entirely from barley, both malted and unmalted, this light, sweet whiskey is triple-distilled, non-peated, and matured in flame-charred American oak bourbon casks. Writers’ Tears’ is inspired by the golden era of Irish Whiskey when this style was known as the “champagne of Irish whiskey.” It was enjoyed by many of the great Irish writers of the day, and it was said that they enjoyed it so much, that when they cried, their tears were of whiskey. A whiskey held high above all others, Writers’ Tears is an award-winning recreation of the fabled nineteenth-century whiskey and has been named in Ian Buxton’s publication as one of the “101 Whiskeys to try before you die.”
The Irishman
Championing Irish single malt, The Irishman is a recreation of age-old recipes created for a new generation of whiskey enthusiasts. Whether a blend or a pure single malt expression, each expression within The Irishman’s range is single-malt focused and triple distilled for a lasting impression. Award-winning whiskey crafted in Ireland, The Irishman gives a nod to Ireland’s golden era of Irish whiskey practices by “learning from the past to create the future.”
