Miracle Pop-Up

Miracle and Sippin’ Santa – the internationally beloved holiday-themed pop-up cocktail bars – are set to return for the brand’s milestone tenth year with over 200 locations worldwide. As friends and family begin to gather, Miracle and Sippin’ Santa bring back the joy and wonder that are only found during the holidays by offering guests a festive and whimsical holiday oasis and much-needed cheer with its world-class seasonal cocktails, served in fun and exclusive glassware.

The global phenomenon started in 2014 as a suggestion from owner Greg Boehm’s mother. At the time, Greg’s bar, Mace, was undergoing renovations when she encouraged him to halt construction and transform the space into a winter wonderland during the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. In just a few days, the unfinished space had Christmas decorations bursting at every seam, holiday spirits flowing, and a line around the block full of patrons waiting to experience the merriment. Thus, Miracle on Ninth Street was born. After Miracle’s unexpected but undoubtable success, Boehm wanted to add some holiday cheer to his other bar, Boilermaker. Having met modern tropical legend Jeff “Beachbum” Berry through a pop-up at Boilermaker, Boehm had the idea to pair his own Christmas visions with Berry’s tropical cocktails and created Miracle’s sister pop-up, Sippin’ Santa’s Surf Shack. Industry friends from cities around the world began reaching out to see how they could recreate the Miracle and Sippin’ Santa holiday magic in their own bars – and the rest is history.

Miracle Vice President Joann Spiegel, the mastermind behind the brand’s cocktail repertoire, will bring back fan favorites such as the Christmapolitan and Jingle Balls Nog to this year’s menu, while also introducing new cheeky holiday-themed libations that play on classic seasonal flavors each season. The Sippin’ Santa menu, created by “Beachbum” Berry, also features returning crowd favorites such as the Yule Tide and Jingle Bird alongside a handful of new innovative tropical-inspired cocktails. Beachbum is described by Imbibe magazine as one of the “25 most Influential Cocktail Personalities of the Past Century,” author of six books on vintage tropical drinks and cuisine, and owner of Beachbum Berry’s Latitude 29 in New Orleans, home to his own Sippin’ Santa location hosted annually.

From early November to December 31 this year, Miracle and Sippin’ Santa locations will invite guests to toast the holidays with their delicious, festive menus. Each pop-up will be decked out in décor of twinkling lights, garlands, ribbons, and tchotchkes inspired by nostalgic vintage Christmas decorations, paired with a soundtrack of holiday songs. Cocktails will be served in signature mugs and glassware only available for purchase during the holiday season at Miracle and Sippin’ Santa locations, offering a tangible piece of the season’s magic for visitors. To further enhance the patron experience, each partner location will also add its own holly jolly programming, such as ugly Christmas sweater parties, stocking decorating, and Christmas karaoke to add to the memorable experience of celebrating with loved ones.
