The Red Lion Inn, founded in 1773, sits at the confluence of American history and New England charm, brought together with a hearty splash of whimsy and a modern approach to comfort and hospitality. The property offers four unique lodging options and newly elevated dining choices from Executive Chef Jon Sterrett to be enjoyed in the famous Main Dining Room featured in Norman Rockwell’s
Freedom from Want painting or the al fresco Courtyard during the warmer seasons. The beloved speakeasy-style bar, The Lion’s Den, was recently renovated, and the quaint retail space Township Four offers curated florals and bespoke home goods. CANOE PLACE INN, Hampton Bays, NY • 25 rooms
Opened in August 2022, Canoe Place Inn in Hampton Bays, NY, a cherished Long Island landmark since the seventeenth century, underwent a restoration featuring twenty guest rooms, five rebuilt cottages, and expansive grounds including a 350-seat event space and a 100-seat restaurant called Good Ground Tavern, with outdoor seating for 120 guests.
