Vice President of Spirits

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer of the agency, the primary responsibility of the Vice President is to manage the division and to supervise and implement account work for several clients on the Wine and Spirits team. The Vice President is responsible for managing and supervising the execution of all aspects of integrated PR programs, supervising and managing the client relationship, managing the account team and growing the agency in a new business function by generating new business leads and leading the proposal process. Should demonstrate an expertise to answer all PR questions immediately and unaided and an ability to think ahead for a client and for the business overall. Specific responsibilities may include:

• Providing senior strategic counsel to clients and account team; lead client programs from development phase through execution, reporting and measurement
• Develop and propose creative client programs, including oversight of client budgets, fee estimates, out-of-pocket expenses, and the allocation of team hours
• Managing the execution of programs as well as assuming direct responsibility for quality implementation
• Serving as a critical interagency team (IAT) lead, liaising with clients’ internal/external partners in brand creative, paid media, digital marketing, and other complimentary services
• Evaluating program results and utilizing available data to provide strategic insights and general client counsel
• Advocating for PR and the role for media relations, social media, and influencer relations within a client’s overall marketing mix
• Continually developing relationships with media and influencers and pitching clients on an ongoing basis
• Anticipating clients’ strategic needs–both long and short term
• Offering value-add counsel on an ongoing basis
• Planning and running strategic client meetings
• Retaining current accounts and growing them
• Ability to travel for business, either for current clients, or to pitch and land new clients
• Building relationships at the senior level with clients while maintaining others
• Supervising account staff in their daily activities, providing structure and instruction for balancing their workloads
• Motivating/mentoring staff and guiding professional development
• Assuming fiscal responsibility for division, accounts and team
• Actively participate as a member of the Senior Team; including weekly Monday meetings as well as the annual Senior Retreat
• Actively participate and guide the successful operations and future course of division and agency

• 9-12 years of relevant experience in the Public Relations industry
• Minimum of 4 years supervisory experience
• BA/BS in public relations, marketing or related field
• Agency and related experience is required
• Must be an experienced leader with the ability to effectively manage a large team
• Abundant experience interfacing with senior level clients
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
