Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club Decorator Show House 2017

Situation

Since, 2013, Magrino has been engaged every year to handle media relations and all social activity surrounding the Annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House and its related events such as the President’s Dinner and Opening Night Cocktail Reception. In addition to media coverage of the Show House and its relevant events, Magrino was tasked to also build awareness of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club as an organization and to highlight the programs and youth that the Decorator Show House supports.

Strategy

Magrino pitched local, national, and regional print, broadcast, and online outlets for coverage of the Show House and its events. Magrino pitched feature stories on the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club tied to the Show House to build awareness of the organization. Magrino invited media to the President’s Dinner and Opening Night Cocktail Benefit to secure post-event coverage. Magrino also took media on personalized walk-throughs of the Show House and coordinated interviews with designers when appropriate.

Results

Each year, coverage of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House and its related events has grown exponentially.  In both 2016 and 2017, Magrino garnered over 550,000,000 in media impressions (a 30% increase from previous years).   Additionally, the Instagram, Facebook and Twitter channels grows exponentially with a 42.56 % growth of Instagram and the use of the #KipsBayandKohler on Instagram 612 times.
